Stephen Colbert mock James Cameron about his fears for 'Titanic 3D'

When James Cameron appeared on "The Colbert Report" Thursday night, the host, Stephen Colbert did not waste much time before expressing some concerns he had with the election of the director of film content.

"You're one of those Hollywood elites, okay? Poisoning the minds of our children with their escapist fantasy movies ... The case in question, 'Titanic,'" the talk show host began after submitted to the director and the "shallowest of the world" of man.

Colbert continued. "That movie, I think, has a terrible message to our children, young women of means and breeding should go out with only a tramp found in third class."

With a nod, knowing Cameron agreed. Yeah ... Think of how much the film could have done if we had done well.  In the evening program to promote the release of his film Titanic 3D, Cameron mused alternate endings with commentary mocking, humorous and thought of a sequel.

Colbert also questioned the principals decision to add the new dimension of their sense of success.  Im afraid Ill feel like I was drowning, said Colbert. It contains everything 3D now? ... Even, like, when they are doing in that car? Footprint sweaty hand ... That is right Atcha.

Cameron confirmed the fears of the host, but noted that the smoking scene they do on screen in China.  They already enough, said Colbert. They were worried the Chinese men to come to the screen - this is true, you can not do this -. And that might interfere with people sitting next to you  Embarrassed, Colbert said, I can not believe that Chinese men have sex that soon.

After handing over the film, Colbert spoke with Cameron on his recent immersion in deep water at the bottom of the Mariana Trench, which quickly became the dispute over geographic channel specifications. While the film director and emotion to the search engine that ranks as the middle of nowhere or, more specifically, the Federated States of Micronesia, sir, political analyst felt otherwise.

People who live there are American citizens, Mr. Colbert, he argued. They have a representative in the government ... You're in my territory! The two agreed to disagree over their conversation on the hash of the mysterious wonders of the world, then saw Cameron. No sign of the Kraken and the ladies collar boat launches in Titanic, unfortunately.

In The "Hunger Games "Dystopian What Property Do Most Resemble?

The Hunger Games author Suzanne Collins has said that the myth of Theseus inspired the story of Katniss Everdeen bobbing, weaving and murder for public entertainment of a depraved. But Collinss novels and the movie of Jennifer Lawrence gajillions mint this weekend, call to mind a lot of newer properties. What is more, um, honor? The arguments, then a survey.

"The Running Man:" Collins may have had a mirror-of-the-grotesque of the current reality of our television culture. But writing as Richard Bachman, Stephen King provides the culture with his 1982 novel about a man who joins a game show of life and death in a dystopian America. Looking for medicine for his sick daughter, Ben Richards (thin and weak, nothing to do with the superhuman Governator-to-be who was going to embody in the film, 1987) goes on a spooky career, while a national television observation throws back some popcorn. Theres even a game similar in Gamemakers backed by the government: the government-backed network games.

"Battle Royale:" The Japanese cult novel (1999) and movie (2000) and has received the Web erati heat and annoying, especially with Collins saying he had not read the book or seen the movie. You can imagine what might have: Koushun Takamis novel and the film by Kenji Fukasaku that followed used a similar premise to The Hunger Games: A group of children are isolated and told to fight until death only one survives. like the Latin Panem become Collinss novels, Japan Battle Royale has degenerated into a kind of amorphous and sinister land of small, where the government sees everything and does not allow anything.

"Blade Runner:" Whenever a new science fiction story comes around, there is always that guy who says "Do not Ridley Scott, which already" That guy has a point here, a kind of?. Despite not containing the element with the man vs. machine, "The Hunger Games" has a debt to the classic 1982 Harrison Ford: There is a dystopia of America, a subject of hunter and hunted, and lots of people who read a large number of meanings in it.

"Nineteen Eighty-Four." No need to go through the motions of it, right? George Orwell's 1949, the novel talks about the dark and troubled land of Panem - er, Oceania - ruled by the Capito l-um, the party - a shadowy organization that is always watching and mandates that people follow their whims accurate. Any critical reference to the Hill of "The Hunger Games" as a Big Brother type of entity only reminds us that Orwell also had an older brother - the original.

"Lord of the Flies:" A couple of movies to put their own spin on the classic, but the premise of the novel by William Golding is on their own parts, scary and not dissimilar After an unspecified disaster "The Hunger Games. "A group of wealthy young children's accident on an island. They try to join but its Darwinian nature get the better of them and engage in ruthless behavior early in the name of survival. Unlike the Hunger Games, "here is human nature rather than the dictates of the government that we encourage wild behavior. Tomato, tomahto.

Jennifer Lawrence? Taylor Swift? Suzanne Collins? That Will Be Most Rating From The Hunger Games?

Who stands to make the most of The Hunger Games: Jennifer Lawrence, Taylor Swift, the director, or someone else?
-Scout115 through the Inbox

The big winners (District 11 seeds) bread will be people who financed the film reported $ 90 million budget: the producers, the studio. But do not worry about Jennifer Lawrence. Neither she nor Taylor Swift, who contributed songs to the soundtrack, will walk away hungry ...

First, talk about distribution. Lawrence is an excellent actress, having collected an Oscar nomination for his first major release.

But it is not A-list. It is not the real star of the film, the novel is. People go to watch The Hunger Games Katniss Everdeen dodge flying knives and killer bees and the sad looks of Gale. Ergo, the producers would have paid a modest $ 500,000 Lawrence for the first entry in the Hunger Games trilogy. She also, however, not specified "stairs" bonuses if the film hits some milestones at the box office, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

This may not seem like much, but it's about how Kristen Stewart was offered when it began as Twilight Bella Swan.

Now let's talk about how the author Suzanne Collins could get: according to reports, hundreds of thousands of dollars. If the film is a big advantage, his salary would be going into the six figures. (Yep: It could earn more than Lawrence.)

The director, Gary Ross, would have a salary between $ 3 million and 4 million, it is unclear whether he will get extra bonuses.

Salary Taylor Swift is perhaps more difficult to analyze. Typically, it costs about $ 1 million to one hit, including writing, promotion, producers, vocal coaches, the whole nine. Do not be shocked if that's what The Hunger Games producers had to pay for the rights to the song of Swift, "Eyes Open". (She also has a second song on the soundtrack, a collaboration with civil wars called "Safe and Sound".)

And now for the producers: If the film is a package (and it), you can bet they will come out of Capitol sewing. Just how much? Think somewhere in mid-seven figures, a producer for the premiere of Spider-Man is said to have raked in not-a-typo $ 30 million.
